By accessing or using Okra ("we", "us", "our") — including the website okra.recipes and the Okra recipe manager and meal planning app — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our services.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

2. Description of Service

Okra provides a recipe manager and meal planning application that allows you to save recipes, plan meals, and manage your cooking. The service is offered via our marketing website (okra.recipes) and our web application (app.okra.recipes), along with related backend services.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice.

3. Account and Registration

To use certain features of Okra, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Keep your account credentials secure
• Notify us promptly of any unauthorised access
• Be responsible for all activity under your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Our services are not directed at children under 16.

4. User Content and Ownership

You retain ownership of the recipes, meal plans, and other content you create, save, or upload to Okra ("User Content"). By using our services, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide and improve the service.

We do not use your User Content to train AI or machine learning models. We do not sell your User Content to third parties.

You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights and that you have the right to submit it. We may remove content that we reasonably believe violates these terms or applicable law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Okra to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of others
• Transmit malware, spam, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
• Use the service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms.

6. Payment and Lifetime Access

Okra is offered on a one-off payment basis for lifetime access to the features included in your chosen plan at the time of purchase. When you pay for access:

• Fees are as described at the time of purchase
• Your payment grants ongoing access to the service for as long as we continue to operate Okra, subject to these terms
• Refunds (if any) are handled in line with any refund policy stated at the point of purchase
• We may change pricing for future customers at any time, but this does not change the amount you have already paid

You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your purchase where required by law.

7. Termination

You may stop using Okra and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if you breach these terms or for other operational or legal reasons, with or without notice where permitted.

Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases. We may retain your data for a limited period in accordance with our Privacy Policy (for example, in backups). You may export your data before closing your account where we provide that option.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Recipe and nutrition information provided through the service (including from third parties) is for general information only and should not replace professional dietary or medical advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Okra and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us for lifetime access to the service (if any).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Okra and its operators, officers, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the service, your User Content, or your violation of these terms or any applicable law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will post the updated terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (for example, by email or in-app notice) where appropriate.

Your continued use of the service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the service.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country give you the right to bring proceedings in your place of residence.

If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not waive that right or provision. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Okra regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements.
